Bachelor of Dental Science (BDS) - BDS or Bachelor of Dental Science is an undergraduate dentistry course. The duration of the course is 5 years including 1 year of internship. After MBBS, BDS is one the most sought after courses in the field of medical science.

Dentistry is a branch of medicine that deals with the study, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of diseases, disorders and conditions of the oral cavity.  BDS course is regulated by the Dental Council of India where all dentists have to register to be able to practice after the completion of their study.

 

BDS Course

BDS course is focused on training students with knowledge and skills related to general dental practices to treat, prevent and diagnose oral diseases. The course can further be classified into various sub-disciplines such as endodontic, oral radiology, oral pathology, oral implantology, oral medicine, pediatric dentistry etc

Students who have passed 10+2 Science (PCB) with a minimum score of 50% marks from a recognized board, are eligible to pursue this course.  In addition, candidates are required to quality National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG) to apply for BDS admissions
