College Of Physician & Surgeons

CPS (College of physician and surgeons) or CPS Mumbai established in 1913, is an autonomous educational body imparting post-graduation in medical education and offers 39 diplomas, 10 fellowship and 2 certificate courses. It is recognized by the Ministry of health science and family welfare (MOHFW) in the notification dated 17-Oct-2017. After completion of the CPS, course candidates can work anywhere in India hence, but there will be one restriction that candidates cannot use CPS certificate and qualification for teaching purposes. CPS Courses are offered by Government Hospitals of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, and also it is available in some private hospitals of Gujarat and Maharashtra. CPS is a firm responsible for the registration of postgraduate doctors in India. It makes rules, register doctors and conduct exams for post-graduation. Plus education is a well-recognized CPS admission consultant, which helps the candidate to apply for CPS courses.

 CPS Eligibility Criteria 

​

Eligibility criteria to get admission in College of Physicians and Surgeons are simple and straightforward. Candidates seeking Diploma/Fellowship/ Certificate courses from this institution are required to obtain MBBS qualification or any equivalent qualification recognized by the Medical council of India.

Candidates are required to qualify MBBS examination recognized by MCI to take admission in any CPS affiliated medical college or institution in India. Additionally all aspirants have to produce Certificate of Eligibility prior to admission and, they must hold permanent registration with the Medical Council of Maharashtra or State Medical Council.

CPS Admission Process

• Admission to all CPS diploma and fellowship courses shall be strictly based on the Post Graduate National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (PG – NEET).
  All the seats for diploma and fellowship courses shall be filled by the central admission / counselling process conducted by CPS Mumbai

• The detailed information brochure for the admission process will be published by CPS, at the time of admission notice published by cps Mumbai.
  The brochure will contain information about provisional available seats, fee structure, procedure for online registration, details about timeline, details about the admission procedure etc.

  Whole admission process shall be conducted as per the procedure defined in the brochure.

CPS Recognition & Affiliation

All Diplomas/Fellowship and certificate courses are recognized by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to impart postgraduate education in India and Government of Malaysia. 

CPS is recognized by the medical Council of Maharashtra, Gujrat, Odisha, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, etc. It is also recognized by the Union territory of Dadar and Nagar Haveli.

There are approximately 20 institutions of identical fields affiliated for providing medical training under CPS affiliation in Gujrat. However, 125+ medical Institutions involving private medical Colleges, Govt. Medical Colleges, deemed universities or Corporation Medical Institutions recognized by UGC are affiliated to CPS for providing PG medical specialized training programs.
